Samsung continues its tradition of offering flagship-level features at an affordable price with the upcoming release of the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE (Fan Edition) later this year. Despite conflicting reports, leaked renders now confirm the existence of the Galaxy S23 FE, and Samsung intends to launch it. Thanks to the leaked images by @OnLeaks via Smartprix, we can now present you with a First look at the design of the Galaxy S23 FE.
The leaked design images of the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE showcase a triple-camera setup, a feature that is expected to continue from its predecessor. Notably, this smartphone is likely to include a telephoto camera sensor, which is relatively uncommon in devices within its price range. The camera module has undergone changes compared to its predecessor, the S21 FE.
When comparing the design of the Galaxy S23 FE with Samsung’s current lineup, it bears a striking resemblance to the Galaxy A54 model. The upcoming smartphone is expected to feature a flat display with a size of approximately 6.4 inches. The display will have a centered selfie camera and an under-display fingerprint sensor for enhanced security. On the rear panel, the Galaxy S23 FE showcases a clean layout with three camera sensors protruding from the surface, instead of being enclosed in a separate camera island. This has become Samsung’s signature design, found in almost every Samsung smartphone now.
The Bezels around the display seem very thick compared to today’s standard in this price range. As said earlier the phone looks surprisingly similar to Samsung’s budget midrange smartphone A54 which costs $449. This made many Samsung fans left disappointed. Famous tipster @IceUniverse also showed his frustration about this design in a tweet.
Oh, my God, Galaxy S23 FE's super-large bezel is really great! Congratulations to the "Fans". This is the best gift from TM Roh. pic.twitter.com/kpLdk5g4Gb— ICE UNIVERSE (@UniverseIce) June 28, 2023
Although we have to wait for the official announcement from Samsung to know what they have stored for their fans.
- Display: Flat 6.4-inch 120Hz AMOLED display
- Processor: Rumored to feature Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 SoC / Exynos 2200
- Dimensions: In terms of dimensions, the Galaxy S23 FE is estimated to measure around 158 x 76.3 x 8.2mm, indicating a sleek and compact design. These dimensions make the device comfortable to hold and operate with one hand.
- Camera: Expected upgrade to a 50MP sensor, similar to the sensor found in Galaxy S23. Also, the S23 FE could feature a telephoto lens this time.
- RAM and Storage: Options of 6GB or 8GB RAM, 128GB or 256GB storage
- Battery: 4500mAh battery with 25W fast charging support
According to SisaJournal, the Galaxy S23 FE is anticipated to be priced around 20-to-30% cheaper than the base model Galaxy S23 with 256GB storage, which is priced at $799. This would put the expected price range of the S23 FE between $560 and $640.
It’s important to note that the information provided should be taken with caution until more reliable sources confirm the details about the Galaxy S23 FE. However, a price of $599 would align with the previous pricing strategy of Samsung’s FE models. The Galaxy S20 FE and S21 FE both started at $700, so it would be unexpected if the Galaxy S23 FE came in under this price point.
Although Samsung has not officially announced the launch date for the Galaxy S23 FE, speculations suggest a possible unveiling alongside the next generation of foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5. These devices are expected to be revealed during the second part of the Samsung Unpacked Event, scheduled for July 26, 2023.
Overall, the leaked images of the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE reveal a refreshing design with notable camera upgrades. Samsung’s commitment to providing a flagship experience at an affordable price continues to be a major selling point of the FE (Fan Edition) series. But is S23FE enough for Samsung fans?
