This revelation is a long time coming for the GTA community. Grand Theft Auto V hit the scene a whole decade ago back in 2013, and since then, it’s made its way onto various gaming platforms, including the latest PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Not to mention, the game’s online mode has been a cash cow for Rockstar Games.
It’s been no secret that a new GTA installment has been in development. Rockstar confirmed its work on the next Grand Theft Auto in February 2022. Just last year, a substantial trove of in-game footage from the upcoming GTA VI surfaced online, a leak that Rockstar eventually admitted to. Interestingly, the leaked content was traced back to a teenager from the Lapsus$ hacking group, who recently faced legal consequences in London.
Grand Theft Auto V celebrated its 10th anniversary, with a staggering sales figure of over 185 million copies sold since its initial launch on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2013.
